Cancer Survivors in Detroit Can ‘Beat’ Their Tumors with a Bat, Hammer [VIDEO]
Cancer survivors at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit can smash tiny 3-D replicas of their tumors with a sledgehammer, a bat or just a regular hammer.
They're called "Smash Your Tumor" sessions, and they were created by the Henry Ford Innovation Institute. Check out the video to see Sheila Sky Kasselman, an 8-and-a-half year survivor of pancreatic cancer, crush her replica tumor into bits.
I'm very lucky; I'm almost 34 and I've never had a run-in with cancer, personally (knock on wood). But my grandmother died from colon cancer, and my dad has lymphoma, so I'm very familiar with the struggle. And I can imagine how satisfying this must be for survivors! Get it get it!
