Holly Academy Placed on Lockdown Due to Shots Fired in Area

Students and staff at Holly Academy were placed on lockdown this afternoon after gunshots were reported near the school.

According to the Michigan State Police Twitter page, Troopers were dispatched to Holly Academy for a report of gunshots near the school. The school was in lockdown for some time until they determine what actually occurred near the school.

Students were held in the school while police searched the facility to make sure nothing suspicious happened inside. The lockdown has now been lifted and students are on their way home. The MSP is still investigating the incident, but it appears that the shots are from hunters in the area.
