Baby Food Company Develops Cookie to Prevent Peanut Allergies [VIDEO]
Zoi Maroudas, founder of Bambino’s Baby Food says she has developed a cookie that will prevent peanut allergies. The cookie is designed to desensitize babies from a peanut allergy at a young age. According to studies, introducing peanut to infants in low doses reduced the rate of peanut allergy in at-risk infants by 80 percent compared to non-peanut consumers. Maroudas does have a medical background, which inspired the cookie. She began experimenting with ingredients in 2015. Instead of just avoiding potential allergens, Maroudas' cookies introduce trace amounts of peanuts to infants a an early age to build up a tolerance.
