The first annual Atwood Stadium 5k/10k and kids races last year drew nearly 1000 participants.  I was one of them and did the "Duo-Medaly", where you get a special shirt and medal for doing both the 5k and 10k events.

A lot of others were inclined to do the same, and this year looks to be bigger and better.  The races are this Saturday, July 21st at historic Atwood Stadium on University Drive in Flint.  The 5k starts first at 7:30 am, followed by the 10k at 8:30 and the kids race at 10.

The Atwood Stadium races start outside the venerable Flint landmark, and finish at the 50-yard line inside the stadium.  The kids race goes from goal line to goal line (100 yards).

The course is challenging and is a good training race for those getting ready for the Crim.  www.crim.org

You can still sign up for the Atwood Stadium races online at www.atwoodraces.com or you can sign up race morning.

This is becoming one of the "must-do" races in the Flint running community, come out and see why this Saturday morning.  I'll be there!
