Annual Mackinac Bridge Walk on Labor Day Expected to Draw 40,000
More than 40,000 walkers are expected to participate in this year's Labor Day bridge walk.
It's not too late to make this year's Mackinac Bridge walk on Labor Day a part of your family's tradition! Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will lead an expected 40,000 walkers across the five-mile span beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, September 2nd. If 7 a.m. is too early for you, walkers can start across the bridge up to 11 a.m.
Some other information for those planning to attend: Buses will be available to bring walkers from Mackinac City to St. Ignace for $5. Also, the Michigan State Police will be conducting searches of all bags so walkers are asked to leave non-essential items in their vehicles to avoid delays.
All details on the walk are available at: www.mackinacbridge.org
