American Girl Store to Open at Michigan Mall

But it's only temporary, so get in while you can!

The store will open at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi, upstairs near Nordstrom, on August 6th. It will be the chain's first Michigan location. The store will be open through December of 2017.

Back in February, American Girl introduced Melody Ellison, a Civil Rights-era doll who "lived" in Detroit.

The mall is already advertising for part-time seasonal employment positions at the store.

Am I the only one who's wondering why this is a temporary location? I don't care for the dolls, and I'm not a mother of a girl, but I know that these things are a big deal for a lot of young girls and their parents. Is this just a money grab by the company?
