After House Fire, Morrish Elementary Raises Money for Local Family
It's also part of the Positivity Project, which several schools in the area are taking part in.
Morrish Elementary Principal Michele Corbat told ABC 12 that two of her students lost their home and all of their belongings to a fire in the early hours of Saturday morning. The kids are ages 5 and 9 and the family is currently staying at a hotel.
The staff and kids at the school are raising money to help the family; they've raised $450 of their $5,000 goal on GoFundMe and are also collecting donations of gift cards for meals since the family has no place to cook.
Through the Positivity Project (which puts emphasis on 'other people matter'), they also raised $600 to honor London Eisenbeis and McKenna Schummer, two Grand Blanc students who passed away recently.
Such an amazing lesson to teach these kids. Hopefully they reach their goal! If you'd like to donate online, you can do that HERE.
