Actress Jennifer Garner Brings Smile to Local 7 yo Cancer Patient
Sometimes it's the little things that can brighten a day, especially if you are a 7 year old cancer warrior like Aubrielle.
The 7 year old from Linden, Michigan, and Hurley Children's Hospital patient, had a chance to spend part of her day recently chatting with a pretty special person. Thanks to Children's Miracle Network, Aubrielle was able to spend some time on a virtual visit with actress Jennifer Garner.
Garner, known for her roles in films such as 13 Going on 30, Daredevil, and Miracles from Heaven, took time out to share a special conversation with the young patient. The Golden Globe winner is a mother of 3 herself, and hit it off immediately with Aubrielle. They both have a love of baking, and chatted about their favorite movies and books.
Aubrielle, who is now in the maintenance phase of her active cancer treatment, was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on September 21, 2020. After a tough first 9 months of treatment, she is doing much better, and moments like she had with Garner make it even more so. There were tons of smiles between the two throughout the entire conversation.
Even though Aubrielle is moving forward to being healthier and stronger, she still has tough days that keep her from school and friends. It's times like those that make the magic of CMN and their special surprises so important to the healing process.
"We are so grateful to our friends at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals for setting up this special visit for Aubrielle," said Director of CMN Programs, Linda Tracy-Stephens, "Her smile and her giggle were contagious! Brooklyn Kennings, CMN Asst. Director added, "We are so honored to be able to bring visits from special guests like Jennifer to our kids as a perk of being one of only four CMN hospitals in Michigan."
There is no doubt it was a day that both actress and Aubrielle won't soon forget.
