The CBS News foreign reporter and (most recognizably) 60 Minutes correspondent died last night in a car accident in New York City at the age of 73.

I'm not going to lie; I'm a news junkie. Not 24-hour news networks, but the nightly news. News websites. Shows like Dateline and 60 Minutes. Needless to say, the last 24 hours was no bueno for the news community, and this story just adds to it.

Bob Simon, the 73-year-old 60 Minutes correspondent and foreign reporter for CBS News was killed in a car crash in NYC. In his 47-year career, Simon earned more than 40 major awards including 27 Emmys.
