Let's hope that you're always able to look back on 2020 and say it was the weirdest year of your life. Hopefully, your children will be able to do the same. But there is one constant we can count on -- one bit of normality in a year that's anything but normal:  The Detroit Lions kicked off their season with a loss.

'Not So Pure Michigan,' the satirical YouTube channel that pokes all sorts of fun at the Great Lakes State celebrates (celebrates?) yesterday's Lions loss to the Chicago Bears by noting that a loss for the team is the one normal thing we can count on in 2020.

"In any other year, it would be the same ol' Lions. But this is 2020. Our fans are made of cardboard and the noise coming from Ford Field is being played by a DJ."

John Kerfoot, the creative voice behind the videos that spoof Michigan native Tim Allen's Pure Michigan promotional ads, says that like many years in the past, we had hope that maybe the Lions wouldn't disappoint us this year.

"These crazy and unpredictable times had people really believing that Stafford could win league MVP and the Lions could make it to the Super Bowl. But these are the same ol' Lions. They still suck and find new ways to lose."

This isn't the first video the Tim Allen soundalike has created since the coronavirus pandemic. In May, he poked fun at how incessantly we whined about giving up luxuries and creature comforts in order to slow the spread COVID-19.
