flint farmer's market

I haven't had a chance to go to this event so maybe I'll be able to stop by this year. On Saturday, the Flint Farmers' Market is hosting their annual BBQ Battle from 10am to 5pm and anyone is invited to come out to attend and even sample some food at the same time.

Tomorrow while you're out and about, you should head to the Flint Farmers' Market for the Taste of the Market, which starts at 11am and goes until 2pm. Five chefs will be offering healthy cooking demonstrations throughout the event.

It was just the other day that I wrote a post about getting your gardens ready.  Now there's one more thing you might want to consider before deciding what to grow this year.  Heirloom seeds.  Remember the tomatoes your grandmother used to grow?  Or the wonderful squash you got from the farmer down the road?  You can now grow them yourself.

If you're not sure what to do this weekend, there are always events going on in downtown Flint. Don't forget that it's Free Target Saturday's at the Flint Institute of Arts. Stop by to check out the latest exhibits or catch their latest featured film. Tonight is also their annual wine tasting. I went last year and it was a lot of fun.
