A few months ago a longtime listener dropped off a CD for me that featured the Cars Classic Lunch from September 30th, 1993... the actual broadcast from more than 19 years ago. It featured a number of people and businesses with their requests and dedications. Were you listening to the Cars Classic Lunch 19 years ago? If so, you could be part of the history of this CD. Here are a few of the names and businesses that are featured:
The Cars' Classic Lunch will celebrate 25 years this August, and through that time period I would estimate that we played over 6,300 games of musical trivia. Today, because it's Friday, we will find someone who has NEVER been a winner before, and put them into the winners circle. We do this by making our Friday Trivia as easy as we can, because not everyone is a great trivia player. In case you missed it, here are the clues I gave to help. Would you have known without them?
Today on the Cars' Classic Lunch we played our usual game of musical trivia. Usual in the sense that we play everyday about 12:30pm, but unusual in the fact that Friday is set aside for those who may not be very good at trivia. Especially for that group we created "First Timer Friday". That means the trivia winner cannot have ever been a winner in musical trivia on Cars 108 through the 24 years it has been going on. That puts a lot of former winners on the sideline, and there is always a handsome reward for our daily winners. Here is a picture today's artist. Take the poll after the jump and let me know if you knew who it was.
Today's theme on the Cars Classic Lunch is "All In The Family" - music groups made up of family members. Throughout Rock & Roll history there have been quite a few. Today on the lunch hour we play your favorites! Here are some suggestions for families that fit the theme:
The Cars Classic Lunch gave away a fantastic prize pack this afternoon. It included a pair of ticvkets to the Whiting to see "Mid-Town Men", Limousine service to the show from "A Night Out Limousine" in Clio, dinner for two at Cranberries Cafe in Goodrich, some pre-show primping at "Shear Madness Salon" in Goodrich, and pre-show jewelry from "D.L. Bonner Jewelry" in Goodrich. Congratulations to Carol Patillo of Flushing on winning this fantastic package!
