Black Friday

So, did you spend more on Christmas this year than you planned? Did you pay cash or did you use those credit cards?  Even though the retailing industry reported very strong sales on Black Friday, there is  new data that shows where much of that money came from: credit cards.

Even though the Christmas season is supposed to be a time off giving and 'good will toward men,' that wasn't the case as people all over the world flooded stores on Black Friday this year. There were many stories of people being trampled and riots breaking out, but a couple of them give you a sense of "Wow, really?"  Check out the videos after the jump.

Some stores have made headlines this week for opening their doors to Black Friday shoppers on Thanksgiving night instead of the following day, but for one young Florida woman, even that’s not early enough.

Maybe it’s his sleeker new haircut, but pop sensation Justin Bieber seems to be expanding his fanbase. In a funny new ad for Macy’s, the Biebs makes an assortment of middle-aged men squeal in delight as he makes his way to the department store’s Black Friday sale.

Target, Macy's, Best Buy and Kohl's have all announced their plans to open their stores at midnight on Thanksgiving for Black Friday. Wal-Mart plans to open at 10pm on Thanksgiving in order to get more shoppers to their store, but now employees are fighting back because they don't want to work on Thanksgiving.

Since it's November, it's probably time to start talking about Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Macy's just announced they plan on opening all of their stores at midnight following Thanksgiving and will stay open for 23 hours. They'll close the stores at 11pm on Friday night to make sure all the crazy shoppers have plenty of time to run around.

There seems to be two distinct camps with very different opinions about Black Friday.
