Engage in a healthy activity to help raise money to keep others healthy. It's the 17th annual Healing Hands 5k run/walk to benefit the Genesee County Free Medical Clinic, and it takes place Saturday, May 19th at Mott Community College in Flint.

The race starts and finishes outside of MCC's Ballenger Field House on a flat and fast course through the College/Cultural neighborhood. You can sign up for the race by visiting Bauman's Running Center on Hill Rd, Complete Runner on Dort Hwy., Dale's Health Foods on Miller Rd., or online at www.gaultracemanagement.com

Cars 108's Rod Prahin will team up with ABC 12's Angie Hendershot to MC the awards ceremony and prize giveaway after the race. There will be blood pressure and blood sugar screenings and massages ($1 a minute) for participants.

The Genesee County Free Medical Clinic is a volunteer organization that serves the medical needs of poor and uninsured people who have no other access to health care. It's a cause worth supporting!

I'll have my running shoes on that day, hope to see you there.
