It's time for another weekend and it looks like it's going to be a little cooler so it's time to plan some fun activities around Flint. If you still want your kids to experience some arts and culture, check out all the cool exhibits during Free Target Saturday's at the Flint Institute of Arts.

Or if you're training for the Crim, you can always participate in the Atwood race, with proceeds going towards Carriage Town Ministries and Atwood renovations. Even if you're not a racer you can always support the community and then head to the block party BBQ at Carriage Town Ministries after the race.

There's always something going on at Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad. Take the kids on the summer train or to cruise around on the  Genesee Belle Village. If you're trying to plan ahead, there's always Thomas the Train next month and other great activities going on.

Or there's bicycle races going on in downtown Flint known as Le Champion Pave Criterium, where there's a series of short course races with plenty of activities for the kids going on throughout the race. You can even get a free bike helmet check from Genesys Trauma Services.

If you need a break and want to grab some fresh food and produce, don't forget about the Flint Farmers' Market. You can also shop for arts and crafts while you're there or go to the bakery for some croissants and scones. Again, the bakery is probably my favorite destination when I go to the market.

Whatever you decide to do, hopefully we'll see you around Flint this weekend.
