Ypsilanti Crematory Owner Charged With Improper Disposal of Bodies

A former Flint funeral home owner who's the current owner of a crematorium in Ypsilanti Township is facing charges for allegedly improperly disposing of bodies.

O’Neil Swanson, a name we've heard quite a bit over the years is in some serious trouble after being charged with one count of improper disposal of dead bodies, which is a 10-year felony that carries a maximum of a $50,000 fine, as well as a second habitual offender.

Earlier this year, he was apparently ordered by the state to shut down his business because, well, he was operating without a license. Swanson's license was revoked back in 2018 based on violations of health and safety laws.

I think it's safe to say, Swanson was being watched by many due to his prior complaints. An anonymous tip had been received about heavy smoke coming from the crematory chimney. Yes, the same crematory that was shut down by the state. The tipster also said that the dead bodies were not being stored properly prior to cremation. It's also said that bodily fluids were leaking on the floor. Are you freaking kidding me?

This guy sounds like a real piece of work and hopefully gets what's coming to him. I'd literally never really heard of a crematorium being operated like this until this clown came along.
