You Could Be Eligible For Medicaid In Mid-Michigan State Expands Criteria [VIDEO]

Starting Tuesday 04/08/14 more people are eligible to sign up for Medicaid.

It's called the Healthy Michigan Plan. Genesee Health Plan is working to help people in Mid-Michigan sign up. The Healthy Michigan Plan is part of the Affordable Care Act. It expands the criteria of who is eligible for Medicaid.

In the past you had to have a medical condition to get Medicaid..not any more. Income does play into the decision under the revised program. Here are a few examples:

For a single person, your income must be around $16,000 a year.

$33,000 for a family of four.

You must be between the ages of 19 and 64 and you must not be enrolled in other Medicaid programs.
