West Michigan Church Pays Off Medical Debt for Families
Be right back, finding the Lord and switching churches right quick.
The congregation at Grand Rapids First church in Wyoming, Michigan, got quite the surprise during yesterday's sermon. - the church, along with RIP Medical Debt, paid off more than $1 million in medical debt.
Here's the kicker: the donation was for $15,000 and, with the help of the non-profit group, they negotiated the congregants' medical debt down from $1.8 million.
The pastor of the church says that there are no strings attached to the money, and that he just wanted to "find a need and fill it."
The highest debt paid was over $75,000. If you'll excuse me, I need to find a new church. *wink wink*
