Yes seriously, and it couldn't happen at a better time. With movie fans everywhere yearning to catch their favorite flicks outside of their homes, Walmart is ready to capitalize on the resurgence of the drive-in theater.

Walmart announced this week that they plan to turn 160 of its parking lots into drive-in movie theaters to offer contactless film premieres.The movies, which will run starting in August until October. will be programed by the Tribeca Drive-in team.Tribeca Enterprises, the Robert De Niro-backed media company.

The company statement read, "Beginning in August, Walmart will roll out this red carpet experience in towns across the country for a combined 320 showings. This family-friendly night will include hit movies, special appearances from filmmakers and celebrities and concessions delivered right to customer vehicles."

Drive-in fans will be able to plan ahead for their night at the movies by ordering their drive-in snacks and essentials online for curbside pickup on the way to catch their flicks.

The partnership is a win/win for everyone involved, "Drive-Ins have been a signature program for Tribeca since we started the Tribeca Film Festival 19 years ago after 9/11,” says Jane Rosenthal, CEO and Co-Founder of Tribeca Enterprises and Tribeca Film Festival.
