Vernors Releases First New Flavor In 50 Years
Vernors is a pure Michigan staple and for the first time in more than 50 years, the brand has released a new flavor.
Can I get a drumroll, please? Without further ado, the new flavor is Vernors Black Cherry Ginger Soda. According to the Metro Times, the new flavor will only be available for a limited time.
The new beverage is only available in stores in Michigan and Toledo, Ohio. If you have family out of state, you may need to ship them a six-pack (with a pack or two of Koegel's of course).
Michiganders use Vernors for ice cream floats, as a cocktail mixer, and in my case, for hangover relief. All kidding aside, Vernors really is the bomb. So how do you think the new flavor will stack up? I am thinking Vernors Black Cherry Ginger Soda margaritas sound pretty good.
Pairing it with a Koegel hot dog (as mentioned above) and a bag of Better Made potato chips sounds like the perfect picnic lunch too. Or how about with some Mackinac Island Fudge? This is a pure Michigan mouth party waiting to happen.
Maybe the company will hire a Michigan celebrity to promote the new brand? Bob Seger would be a great choice. Do you remember when Ted Nugent starred in a Vernors commercial? You can check it out below, along with another classic Vernors commercial.
