U of M Alters Grading Policy Due to Coronavirus Pandemic
The reaches of the Covid 19 pandemic have been far and wide, affecting nearly every facet of life. As a result of the impact felt by students, the University of Michigan has decided to alter its grading policy and extend the period in which students are able to drop classes.
The policy changes were outlined in a letter to students who attend classes at any of the university's three Michigan campuses.
First, you will be given the option to convert any, all, or none of your Winter 2020 courses to a Pass/Fail (or Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) for Graduate Students) grading method.
In addition to giving students the option of pass/fail grading, the university extended the period in which students will be able to drop classes.
Second, you will now be able to drop one or all of your courses, if you choose, through April 17, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. during a special schedule adjustment period.
Students who have questions are encouraged to contact the university.
