Two School Districts Receiving Free Security Guards from Flint Company – The Good News
The company wanted to start this initiative NOW, instead of waiting for legislation to be passed.
DM Burr has launched the initiative, called S.O.S. (Secure Our Schools) in the aftermath of the Parkland, FL school shooting.
Kearsley and Brandon School Districts will have the choice to decide if the guards are armed or unarmed. More schools in our area are expected to use the security guards by the spring.
John Allen, the CEO of DM Burr, said that the company wants to give parents peace of mind instead of waiting for the government to come up with money and legislation for it.
Guards are trained in firearms, first-aid, CPR, and active shooter scenarios. A good portion of their guards are retired or reserve police officers.
