What did you do on your wedding day? Probably nothing like this.

For most people, their wedding day is a day about them, their friends and family. But for a Turkish couple, it was about complete strangers that they had never met.

Fethullah Üzümcüoğlu and Esra Polat got married last week in the city of Kilis near the Syrian border, where 4,000 refugees have made their home. Turkish weddings are usually a three-day affair that ends with a fancy dinner for family and friends. But the groom's father thought that the money raised for the wedding could be better used elsewhere.

"Seeing the happiness in the eyes of the Syrian refugee children is just priceless," the groom said. "We started our journey to happiness with making others happy and that’s a great feeling."

What an amazing thing to do for others on a day that's supposed to be about you! This couple is starting their life on such a selfless note, it's lovely.
