Get ready to hit the trail and enjoy some great food along the way in northern Michigan. 

With many people struggling to find things to do nowadays, it great to see events like this. Treetops Resort in Gaylord is once again treating guests to the "Skiable Feast" series for the eighth year in a row. This series is an event that features cross-country skiing and gourmet food stops and it sounds awesome!

The "Skiable Feast" series will take hungry participants on a cross-country skiing adventure on skis or snowshoes and throughs in gourmet food stops all along the 3.8-mile trail. Each station features a different trailside food buffet that participants can feast at. The food at each station is as follows.

  • Station One:
    • Western Scramble Bake Sausage
      • with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and spinach scramble on top of hash browns.
    • Sides including fruits and yogurt parfaits.
    • Drinks include mimosas, assorted wines, and domestic and craft beer.
  • Station Two:
    • White Chicken Chili
    • Jalapeno Cornbread
    • Assorted wines and domestic/craft beer.
  • Station Three:
    • Beef Tenderloin Stroganoff with Spatzle
    • Assorted wines and domestic/craft beer.
  • Station Four:
    • Bottled Water
    • Granola Bars
  • Station Five:
    • Cod Sliders
    • Fresh Fruit Salad
    • Pasta Salad
    • Chips
    • Mini Desserts
    • Assorted wines and domestic/craft beer.

This has just jumped way up on my bucket list in the next few weeks. The "Skiable Feast" is pretty inexpensive as well. The whole experience is only $89 per person or $104 if you need to rent snowshoes or cross-country skis. That is a hell of a deal if you ask me. To see more details, click here.
