It's Throwback Thursday today on the 80s Request Lunch, and we're spotlighting an excellent blast from the past, the Nintendo Game Boy. It was developed in the late 80s combining the best of the company's mid-80s Nintendo Entertainment System, and 1980's Game & Watch system.

The Game Boy was released in Japan on April 21, 1989, and the following August in America. Can you believe it's been 25 years already? But not for the people in Europe who had to wait more than a year to get in on the Game Boy craze. Game Boy finally went on sale in the UK in September of 1990.

When it was originally released, the Game Boy was packaged with one of my all-time favorite games, 'Tetris'. Other models in the Game Boy line were released later in the 1990s, including the Game Boy Pocket, and only in Japan you could score a Game Boy Light.

What are some of your favorite Game Boy or Nintendo games? Any radical flashbacks to your childhood?  Watch these kids reacting to a Game Boy.  There responses are priceless.
