The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus Mouse Officially Has a Name

After 50 years, the cutest mouse in the house, or out front of it, has a name. According to the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, the mouse is Klaus!

The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus says that they received 10,643 votes in less than a month to name the infamous mouse. From those names, four finalists were selected and community voting was held earlier this month. The finalist names included Klaus, Frankie, Charlie and Hans. “We are excited to give our beloved mascot a name at last,"said Judy Zehnder Keller, owner of the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus. "The Cheese Haus is a top tourist destination for generations of travelers to Frankenmuth and everyone loves our mouse. He is one of the most photographed landmarks in all of Frankenmuth.”

In honor of the now famous Klaus the Mouse, the store will be celebrating Klaus' birthday on April 6th by giving 50% off all cheese in the store in honor of the 50th birthday.

The Cheese Haus mouse is one of the most photographed landmarks in Frankenmuth. He was put up in 1970, two years after the Cheese Haus opened.
