19-year-old R.J. Peete was diagnosed with autism at age 3...and doctors told his parents that he'd likely never be able to drive. He failed the written portion three times, but he was determined to get behind the wheel somehow.

He came back to the DMV with his dad and his autism therapist, and took the written test in a manner that's aimed at people who have special needs - verbally. He'd be asked the questions instead of writing them down.
