23 Year Old Standout Flint City Bucks Player Killed by Drunk Driver
The champion Flint City Bucks family is mourning this loss of one of their own. Standout defenseman Eugene Quaynor was killed Wednesday night by an allegedly drunk driver in Oklahoma.
Quaynor, who was captain of the men's soccer team and a graduate student at Oral Roberts University, was stopped at a red light when an allegedly drunk driver ran into the back of his car with an SUV. According to news reports, the collision caused Quaynor's car to be pushed into a retaining wall where it caught fire. Responders found the young college student deceased in the car.
The Flint City Bucks took to social media to announce the passing of their beloved player who had just completed his first year with the 2022 USL League Two Conference Champions.
"We were devastated to learn of the tragic and untimely passing of our standout defender Eugene Quaynor this morning. Eugene was the victim of a car crash in Tulsa, OK where he was captaining Oral Roberts University and pursuing his master's degree. We love you Eugene. May your memory be eternal. Rest In Peace"
Originally from Ghana and born to Daniel Quaynor and Hasila Haruna, he recently earned his bachelor’s degree in Arts & Cultural Studies and was in his 4th year with the collegiate team at ORU.
Costa Papista, President of the Flint City Bucks, shared his emotional thoughts on Facebook saying,
