If telling you that I was a fan of the Mary Tyler Moore Show back in the day is admitting that I'm old, then so be it. Although I was a little surprised when I did some research and learned that the show ran from 1970 to 1977 -- I must have watched it in syndication a few years later, right?

The show featured an iconic opening sequence which featured Mary Tyler Moore as Mary Richards making her way through the streets of Minneapolis. Now, one of the most memorable TV show openings has been turned into a PSA to promote mask-wearing, a crucial element in slowing the spread of coronavirus.

Take a look at the video below. Shot for shot, scene by scene, the modern-day Mary character is seen sporting a mask. If Mary Richards can do it, so can you.

In case you've forgotten the words to the show's theme song, here you go:

Who can turn the world on with her smile?
Who can take a nothing day
And suddenly make it all seem worthwhile?
Well it's you, girl, and you should know it
With each glance and every little movement you show it
Love is all around no need to waste it
You can have the town, why don't you take it
You're gonna make it after all
You're gonna make it after all
