Sheryl Crow to Headline New Motor City Car Crawl in Detroit
There's new summer event coming to Detroit that everyone's sure to love.
Motor City Car Crawl, is an all-new event in downtown Detroit. The car showcase is being hosted by the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) and the Downtown Detroit Partnership (DDP). The four-day, free outdoor event will kick off at noon, Thursday, August 5 and last through Sunday, August 8.
What It's All About
The new city-wide charity event will showcase new vehicles from metro Detroit area dealers. Motor City Car Crawl will span six downtown parks, including Beacon Park, Cadillac Square, Campus Martius, Capitol Park, Grand Circus Park and Spirit Plaza. In addition to the cars, attendees can enjoy local food trucks, beverage stations and family entertainment in various locations throughout the city during the weekend.
The Big Gala
The highlight of the inaugural event will be the Motor City Car Crawl Charity Gala. Although the day to day events are free to attend, the gala does carry a price tag of $250. None other than singer-songwriter. and nine-time Grammy Award, winner Sheryl Crow is on tap to perform a the gala on August 7th.The Gala will raise money for nine Detroit children’s charities including, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan and University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
“Following a year that had a negative impact on many organizations, especially non-profits, we are thrilled to create and host a new event that will raise money for children’s charities,” said Doug North, DADA Special Events Chairman. “We are especially thankful to feature a big name, like Sheryl Crow, as our headliner to help draw people downtown.”

The Motor City Car Crawl is part of the overall North American International Auto Show family. NAIAS has redesigned and created new events since the pandemic began. In addition to events such as the Motor City Car Crawl, NAIAS has planned Motor Bella for September to be held at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac.
