Some schools in Kansas City are using dogs to help prevent bullying in schools by bringing the animals in every day for an hour. The dogs are brought in to teach kids responsibility, self control, passion and integrity. USA Today says the program has been in place for five years and teachers have noticed the positive impact it has had on the students.

The training consists of teaching the kids the importance of treating others with respect. They ask the kids how they think the animal would feel if it was treated poorly and relate it to how other kids would feel if they were treated poorly. I think it's a great idea to bring a dog in the classroom once a day as a way to preventbullying. It's definitely a unique way to show the kids that bullying needs to be stopped and who doesn't love a cute dog to play with while learning.
