Saginaw Friends Share Huge Powerball Jackpots After Double Win
Two friends who have always planned to share their lottery winnings if they win big have both grabbed big Powerball jackpot wins from the Michigan Lottery.
Naomi Cawley matched four white balls and the Powerball in the February 21 Powerball drawing, netting her a $50,000 prize. But thanks to the Powerplay, Naomi's prize was multiplied to $100,000.

Friends Play the Lottery Together
Cawley tells the Michigan Lottery that she and a friend have had a longtime agreement to share their winnings if either of the won a large lottery jackpot. But she also noted that there's a twist to their agreement.
"Rather than buying one ticket for the both of us, we started buying our own separate tickets with the same numbers," Cawley said.
So for the February 21 Powerball drawing, both Cawley and her friend both had winning tickets.
Forgot to Play the Powerplay
But Naomi went on to say that her friend forgot one important step when she purchased her ticket.
"She told me I’d won $100,000 and she’d won $50,000 because she forgot to add the Power Play to her ticket," Cawley said.
Cawley tells the Lottery that she plans to use the money to take her family on a trip and save the rest.
We Have Questions
So how are these friends supposed to hand this conundrum? If one friend won $100,000 and the other won just $50,000, are they each going to keep their respective jackpots? What are the terms of their agreement? Should they pool the money and split it right down the middle?
And then what about the taxes?
Will they remain friends?
This got complicated fast. One thing is clear. If I win the lottery, I'm not sharing with any of my friends. Well, former friends.
