Roseanne Barr is Officially Running for President
This is no joke.
Comedian Roseanne Barr has officially filed the paperwork seeking office of President of the United States, as a Green Party candidate.
Of course she announced her candidacy on Twitter:
"I am running for Green Party nominee for POTUS," the comedian said Thursday on Twitter. "I am an official candidate. I am4 the Greening of America&the world. Green=peace/justice."
The Los Angeles Times recalled Barr's campaign announcement speech from May 2010 in which she outlined her three-point platform:
- Make war illegal and legalize hemp (marijuana too).
- Change the demographics of government to include more women.
- Outlaw — how do we say this politely? — outlaw bull. Yes, that's it. Outlaw bull.
Why is "Rosie" doing this? Oh, do you think maybe it has something to do with a new NBC show that is slated for later this year? Publicity stunt, you say?
