Roblox Faces Lawsuit Over Exploitation of 10-Year-Old Michigan Girl
A Michigan mother has filed a federal lawsuit against Roblox Corporation, alleging the popular gaming platform failed to protect her 10-year-old daughter from online predators.
If your kids are playing Roblox — or any other online game — heads up: predators may be lurking.
The lawsuit, filed earlier this month in the Northern District of California by the Dolman Law Group, claims an adult posing as a child groomed the Oakland County girl through the platform and eventually persuaded her to share explicit images.

How the Predator Exploited the Girl
According to court documents, the man allegedly sent graphic photos to the child, manipulated her by building an emotional connection, and offered in-game currency (known as Robux) to coerce her into sending explicit pictures of herself.
Attorneys say Roblox allowed the exploitation to occur by failing to provide adequate safeguards for young users, despite marketing itself as a safe, kid-friendly space.
“What Roblox represents as a safe, appropriate space for children is, in fact, a digital and real-life nightmare for kids,” the lawsuit states.
Wave of Cases Against Roblox Nationwide
This case is part of a wave of lawsuits against Roblox, as attorneys representing families nationwide say they are investigating hundreds of complaints, many involving children as young as 8 who were allegedly targeted through the game.
Roblox has denied wrongdoing, pointing to safety measures including chat filters, AI-powered moderation, and new age-verification features. The company says it is “committed to child safety” and continues to invest in measures to protect children.
