Residents, Car Dealerships Bombed With Baseball-Sized Hail in Davison
'Apocalyptic' is the word that Davison resident Sarah Hester used to describe the hail storm that hit the area and left a trail of destruction Tuesday (7/20) afternoon.
Many area residents and businesses reported damage after the storm ravaged the area beginning at about 2:30 pm.
"I started thinking, oh my gosh, the second coming. It was that freaky," Hester tells WXYZ-TV. "It was like abusive. It was apocalyptic."
Nearly Every Car in the Lot Damaged
Two car dealerships reported extensive damage after Tuesday's storm. Representatives from Graff Chevrolet in Davison and Todd Wenzel Buick GMC both report that windshields were shattered and vehicles were dented.
"Every car in this lot has damage to it," Drew Smith from Todd Wenzel's Davison dealership tells the Detroit Free Press.
Chris Graff tells WNEM-TV that much of their inventory was damaged as well as their building and air conditioning units.
“We got the insurance company coming out tomorrow to figure out how we fix them or sell them or how we go from there,” Graff said.
On the bright side, no injuries or deaths were reported as a result of Thursday's storm.
