REPORT: Detroit Red Wings Will Announce Steve Yzerman as GM Today

That's ONE way to make it a Good Friday for Michiganders!

The news conference is set for 3 PM today - team owner Christopher Ilitch, Red Wings GM Ken Holland and former player Steve Yzerman will all be there. TSN's Gord Miller tweeted this earlier this morning:

Yzerman, who is 53-years-old, played his entire career with the Red Wings from 1986-2006, when he was then inducted into the NHL Hall of Fame. He led the team to three Stanley Cup championships.

Other sports rumors on social media suggest that Holland has been contacted by other teams but will stay in Detroit.
