Running out of money is usually a BAD thing, but not in this case!

The Port Huron Police Department hosted their first-ever gun buy-back program this past Saturday, and to say that it was successful is an understatement.

A company called Acheson Ventures pledged $5,000 to the event, but within an hour, that money was gone. Some of the command staff even pulled from their personal bank accounts to make sure that people got their cash for guns.

The event was attended by people like Carol Fletcher, whose husband passed away. She doesn't know anything about guns and was more than happy to sell back his pistol and rifle.

Sounds like a success! There's a first time for everything; no doubt they'll be better prepared next year.
