Oh Deer: Buck Seeks Sanctuary at a Church in Sturgis, Michigan
Churches are always looking for opportunities to build attendance. But this visitor was not welcomed with open arms and not invited to come back and worship again next Sunday.
Pastor Amanda Eicher posted the video below, showing a deer rampaging through the sanctuary at Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Sturgis, Michigan. Sturgis is located near the Indiana border, about 45 miles south of Battle Creek.
Pastor Eicher and her husband Luke, who is also a pastor discovered a broken window in the church's sanctuary Monday (11/15) morning, which also happened to be the opening day of the firearm deer season here in Michigan.
Thinking that thieves had broken the window, Eicher set out looking for vandals or evidence that unwelcomed guests had broken into the building.

Although technically she was right, the pastor did not expect to see a buck climbing the stairs to the balcony that overlooks the church's sanctuary.
"Oh, my word! Oh, my word!" she exclaims as she spots the animal. "What is happening?"
Rhetorically, she tells the buck not to go into the balcony where the church's audio/video appears to be located.
The 10-point buck eventually made his way back outside, exiting through the same window he had broken to enter the church.
