Owner of ‘Big John’ Donates $100K to Mott’s Culinary Program – The Good News
That deserves a steak & onion sandwich for lunch today!
Joseph Klobucar, the brother of 'Big John' himself and the co-founder of the fast-food chain here in Michigan, has donated $100,000 to Mott Community College's new Culinary Arts program.
And this isn't the first time - since 2012, the family has donated more than $300,000 to Mott in memory of Big John, who passed away in 2011. He founded the first KFC chain in the Flint area in the 60's and then opened the first Big John Steak & Onion in 1973.
The most recent donation will go towards study-abroad opportunities and scholarships for students.
