Ohio Requires Fencing on Overpasses – Should Michigan Do The Same?
The news comes just weeks after a Warren, Michigan man was killed in Ohio when teenagers threw a sandbag off an overpass.
Here's the irony - these plans have been in the works in Ohio since 2014, when a Pennsylvania woman died after teenagers threw rocks off an overpass. It didn't even HAPPEN in Ohio, yet they started putting precautions in the works almost four years ago.
The plans would cover approximately 160 overpasses over five years at a cost of less than $1 million per year.
Of course, this is ironic here in Michigan because 32-year-old husband and father Kenneth White was killed here in Flint back in November after teenagers threw rocks off an overpass.
So, the question is...should Michigan follow suit? Is it too little, too late? What do you think?
