The ‘Ghostbusters’ Are Having a Blast in New Character Banners
It’s been a little quiet on the Ghostbusters front in the last few weeks, but Sony has unveiled some colorful new banners featuring three of the characters from Paul Feig’s upcoming film. Melissa McCarthy is strangely absent, but Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Kristen Wiig each get their very own promo image, blasting away with their cool new proton packs.
The images would probably benefit from the use of a tagline instead of quotes from the trailer, which sort of make these banners seem corny. But the vibrant, colorful design is spot-on, with Jones’ banner in particular standing out among the rest. Click the images below to see the full versions:
And here’s the official synopsis:
Erin Gilbert (Wiig) and Abby Yates (McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. Gilbert reunites with Yates and others when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
The film also stars Chris Hemsworth as the team’s receptionist, along with Cecily Strong, Michael K. Williams, Andy Garcia and Matt Walsh, and newcomer Neil Casey as the villain. Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15.
