Could the end of the world be coming? It seems odd that seldom do they experience quakes in the northeast, but as we approach the winter solstice that we would get one now. A few New England states were shaken on Tuesday evening by a 4.0 magnitude earthquake. The center of the earthquake was centered near Hollis Center, Maine.  The window-rattler happened just after 7pm.

The tremors of the quake were felt as far away as Pittsburgh and northern New Jersey. There weren't any reports of significant damage. It has been suspected that seismic activity could very likely increase as we approach the winter solstice on December 12th. That is the day the earth aligns with the center of the universe. Many are calling it the day the world will come to an end. Let's hope this isn't an omen of things to come.
