Nearly 17% Of American Living In Poverty
A just-released Census Bureau report offers a glaring look at the dissolving middle class, and the growth of poverty in the United States. A record 46.2 million Americans are classified as being below the poverty level, and more than 49.9 million are without health insurance.. The recession has left millions still struggling and out of work. Last year the official poverty level was an annual income of $22,314 for a family of four. Now, one out of every six people in America live in poverty. How sad.
