I've heard the saying that "any publicity is good publicity." I disagree.

Unfortunately, my alma mater in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin is known for having one of the first school shootings in the country in 1993. Today, they're in the news for something totally different, but not flattering.

Reportedly the principal came into a classroom to check on a substitute teacher and make a comment about how "black people don't have to sit in the back of the classroom." Nobody thought it was funny, and students protested this morning.

The principal released a statement, saying that he was making a comment about social justice. "I want to be clear that there was no joke intended. This is a serious subject and I now know that many students are not ready to talk about these issues. I have more work to do before we can have more conversations around social justice."

I'm torn...I don't know if this was protest-worthy or not. What do you think? Personally, I'm offended that they built us a football stadium AFTER I graduated. ;)
