MSU Offers Funds to Assist Students During COVID-19

Michigan State University is offering a helping hand to their students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The university has developed a Support our Spartans Student Emergency Needs Fund to help students during the uncertain time.

Qualifying students will receive a one-time grant up to the maximum of $500. The funds will disbursed  through the students account with the students having no obligation to  pay it back.

Student applying for the funds need to be a currently enrolled  student and submit an application.  Students will need to provide proof of the expense or circumstance as to why they are requesting the money.

The fund isn't something new to Spartan Nation.  According to MSU, the Support Our Spartans Student Emergency Needs Fund (SOS Fund) was established by the MSU Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services in 2010 to provide students financial support to pay unexpected expenses that arise from emergency situations such as accidents, illness, death of a family member, loss of housing, fire, or weather-related events. The current outbreak now falls under those qualifications as a need for students.
