More Paid Parking & a New Way to Pay Set for Downtown Flint
More paid parking is coming downtown, but a better way to pay is also on it's way.
According to Flint Side, the Downtown Development Authority will be making some parking upgrades around town including more metered parking and implementation of a pay to park app, also renovations to the Flat Lot.
An app called, Passport, will be available now in order for you to pay for your metered parking from your phone. It will also give you a warning before your time runs out and will allow you to pay without jumping outside to dig for quarters.
Which is a good thing since there will now be metered parking at Beech and Harrison streets. You'll find meters at Kearsley, First, Second, Third and Fourth streets as well.
It also looks like there will be a total re-haul of the Flat Lot some time this summer. The city will be installing new lights, repaving the entire lot, and will be upgrading that kiosk at the entrance. But don't worry, it will still be free after 5 p.m.
