Milwaukee Plans ‘Tiny Houses’ for Veterans – The Good News
Proud of my hometown for taking an active role in caring for our country's veterans.
On Monday, Veterans Day, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett signed the paperwork to move forward with plans to provide tiny housing to the city's veterans.
The homes will be about 240 square feet and will be built on a piece of public land. Veterans will be able to stay in the houses for two years while they find permanent housing. There will also be a community center on the grounds. The village will be built using private funds.
The little village of tiny houses will start construction in the spring, and veterans will be able to apply on a referral basis.
