Between tornadoes and heavy rainfall, the recent weather has been rough on Michiganders. From devastating floods in Wayne County and four reported tornadoes throughout the Great Lakes State, this past weekend was no joke.

I heard tornado sirens in Fenton early Saturday evening, but luckily nothing other than heavy rainfall happened. That was definitely not the case in Port Austin. A tornado did in fact hit the Michigan town, and one woman was able to film the twister while driving.

Veronica Heins Wolschleger posted a video of the tornado on her Facebook page, and as you can imagine it has since gone viral. You can see the video for yourself below. I don't know about you, but I would have been freaking out.

Do you recall tornado drills in elementary schools? I assume every school district taught the same type of drill, one that involved putting a text book over your head. I don't know about you, but after watching Veronica's video, I don't see how a text book could possibly save me. Luckily, I have not had to prove that theory.

This video is as close to a tornado as I ever hope to be. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Michigan residents cleaning up debris and much worse today. My thoughts are with all of those folks, maybe even you.

Shout out to Veronica Heins Wolschleger for allowing me to share her video, I am so glad you and your husband are okay.
