A Fort Gratiot mom wanted to set a good example for her daughter, so she bought coffee for the women behind her in line who were insulting her.

Dianne Hoffmeyer was in line at a Tim Hortons to buy donut holes for her teething daughter and some coffee for herself, when she heard a couple of middle-aged women behind her making snide comments.

According to Hoffmeyer, they were making comments about her hair and how her "roots" were showing, and how she's a "whale" that "needed to eat."

While this would be rude to say about anybody, Hoffmeyer was particularly upset, because she had just lost 177 lbs. Instead of lashing out, she told the cashier that she would buy the women coffee. She then went out to her car and cried.

And she said she'd do it again.

"I'd like to buy them another cup of coffee, and talk to them. And explain to them how it made me feel."

The cruelty of people in this world just boggles my mind. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Pure and simple.
