Taco Bell has long been a quick, affordable stop for lunch, dinner, and late-night cravings—remember "Fourth Meal"? However, a popular Mid-Michigan location has been demolished, leaving Fenton Township without a Taco Bell.

The End of an Era on Fenton's Owen Road

Searching for the Taco Bell on Owen Road in Fenton on Google now shows it as "Permanently Closed."

When you use TacoBell.com’s store locator for ZIP code 48430, the nearest options are now in Holly or Linden. Owen road isn't even an option. In fact when you try to click the link you get alerted that 'Page Does Not Exist'.

Where’s the Nearest Taco Bell Now?

Mundy Township, just north of Fenton, offers two Taco Bell locations: one near Grand Blanc Road, east of US-23, and another recently opened at Hill and Torrey Roads, across from Scooters.

For other options, you can head to Hartland in Livingston County or visit one of the 10 Taco Bell locations in Genesee County. Either way, it’s a drive for that late-night Doritos Locos Taco.

Fenton has seen a lot of restaurant closures and changes over the years. Some have revamped their menus, while others have disappeared entirely, like Pizza Hut. Could Taco Bell meet the same fate?

Good News: A New Fenton Taco Bell Is Coming

Despite the demolition, the iconic Taco Bell sign remains standing. Construction crews have confirmed the restaurant is being rebuilt and will reopen in October 2025—similar to how McDonald’s rebuilt next door a few years ago.

According to the plan, they will also use the former site of Fenton Memorials and Vaults, just north of the Taco Bell property. June 27th was their last day in their former building before that business reopens in their new location on July 7th.

The Most Popular Fast Food Restaurants in Michigan

What are the most popular fast-food restaurants here in Michigan? If you're automatically assuming that the chain with the Golden Arches has the most locations, you're in for a shock.

As you take a look at the pics below, see if you can figure out which location we've featured. All pictures are from the greater Flint area, and we've left in just enough background for you to be able to make an educated guess.

The answers are below.

By the way, the ranking is based on the restaurants with the most locations in The Mitten, based on data from the Friendly City Lab at Georgia Tech. Their numbers are based on data compiled in 2021, so some numbers may have fluctuated since then.
